Michael Medina
Mr. Medina serves as the Senior Counsel at Layfield & Barrett

Mr. Medina, an Arizona native, grew up in the small mining community of Bagdad, Arizona. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 1989, Mr. Medina received a Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship to attend Creighton University School of Law. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1992.

Mr. Medina joinedLayfield & Barrett as an Attorneyin February 2016. He handles a wide variety of cases including: products liability, catastrophic injury cases, police misconduct, negligence, employment cases, class actions, and other complex litigation matters.

Mr. Medina was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1993. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and United States District Court, District of Arizona. He is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Attorney's Information Exchange Group, and Million Dollar Trial Lawyers.

After law school, Mr. Medina began his practice in a number of different areas of the law including: products liability, insurance law, civil rights, employment law, school law, governmental liability, and appellate practice.

Prior to joining Layfield & Barrett, Mr. Medina represented plaintiffs in suits against tire manufacturers and vehicle manufacturers. Mr. Medina also handled cases involving products liability, insurance law, personal injury, motor carriers, and appellate practice.
