Mark Bloom is a seasoned litigation trial attorney priding himself as a lawyer for the people. Driven by his passion for representing people who have been seriously injured or wronged, Mark approaches each case with compassion, professionalism and dedication, while still maintaining his reputation as an aggressive litigator.
Prior to joining the Layfield & Barrett, Mark worked at another prominent personal injury law firm where he proved himself as a strong trial attorney and secured multiple multi-million dollar settlements, verdicts, and arbitration awards. He attributes his success as a personal injury attorney, in part, to his keen ability to view each case from both sides, which is largely a result of his time spent practicing law at a distinguished defense firm in California.
Mark's expertise is not limited to personal injury. He is also experienced in toxic tort, employment law, class actions, sports and entertainment law, as well as contract drafting and negotiation. Mark is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Hebrew.
Mark is licensed to practice in all California State Courts. He is a member of the State Bar of California, Consumer Attorneys of California, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Mexican-American Bar Association, and Sports Lawyers Association. Mark is also a Certified Contract Advisor with the National Football League Players Association and has championed injury settlements totaling high eight figures for professional football players.
Mark earned a law degree in two years from California Western School of Law where he served as a member of the Law Review/International Law Journal. An alumnus of University of Texas at Austin, he graduated with honors in two and a half years with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government, while also playing the #1 singles and doubles position on the Longhorn racquetball team.
Mark is a former world, national and collegiate racquetball champion. He also has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Mark has a strong appreciation for the arts and a passion for travel. He enjoys playing tennis, squash and golf. A native of New Orleans, Mark now resides in Redondo Beach, CA with his wife, Katherine.
