Most people think that I went to work at my father's firm. Well that's not the way my family works --- we like to keep things interesting, if unexpected.
My father went to Quinnipiac University Law School starting at nights in 1998 when he was 59. He was still working as an accountant for the City of New Haven.I joined him at Qunnipiac in 1999 going full time during the days. We both graduated on May 12, 2002.
We focused on tax law because we saw taxpayers were so terribly under serviced. From overworked CPAs trying to play lawyer when it wasn't a tax season, to scam tax resolution outfits, to white-shoe law firms charging $1000 an hour for...an hour. I looked at the marketplace and asked myself "If I needed a tax attorney who would be always on my side, who would I hire?"
I couldn't answer that question well, I concluded there must be an opportunity.
I have been described as an entrepreneur trapped inside an attorney's body, which I suppose is partly true. I still love the intellectual challenge of coming up with a strategy and using skills of persuasion to implement it. But now I usually find myself mentoring our newer attorneys and meeting with our incredibly interesting and absolutely amazing clients.
My father officially retired in 2014, but remains of counsel and stops by the office nearly every day.
We have assembled a team of some of the most impressive minds around. We love what we do, and can help with all tax matters. From the planning stage to resolution to filing the most complicated tax returns...we can help.
